Vacation, Moving, and Travel : How to Keep Your Sh*t Together

Vacation, Moving, and Travel : How to Keep Your Sh*t Together

- set a different standard to hold yourself to. you should have a few non-negotiables that you can actually stick to.
- To-go is your best friend. half now, half for lunch tomorrow, don't have to pay for it.
- Figure out what really goes to shit when you travel, address that in a small and manageable way
- realize you actually are in control of way more than you may think 99% of the time sparing a trip where it's really offensive to turn down food or drink for cultural or religious reasons. Shotgunning beer does not count as culture and this isn't your frat house. You can still do it, no questions asked, but own that it was your choice and you're an adult.
-check the menu ahead of time and spoil your own appetite
- tracking, my general rule was always if I would remember the occasion in a year, I didn't track and fully enjoyed the experience. Enjoying the experience includes leaving not feeling like garbage because you massively overate either.
- Compare it to your normal. If you wouldn't eat cake, cookies, candy, and potato chips all on the same plate at home, there's no reason you should at an event.
- leads me to my next point. look for what actually sounds and looks good, not what you just don't normally have at home. they might be the same thing, or they might not.
